Our Basic Beliefs
We believe everyone is imperfect and in need of God’s help; especially the members of our church!
We believe God is able to help us with with any and all obstacles of life’s journey.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word, penned by human hands as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, and has the answers to all of life’s challenges.
We believe Jesus established the local church as a place for His followers to gather for teaching, worship, encouragement, to serve one another and love their community.
We believe putting your faith in Jesus as the Son of God is the only way to obtain eternal life.
Our Core Values
Where Are You In The Journey?
We believe there are four stages in the journey of life.
Salvation
The initial stage is Salvation. When we come to the realization we need Jesus to forgive us of our sins and accept Him as our Savior, our new life in Christ begins! This stage is represented by a torch that lights the path to accepting Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to The Father except through Him.
Discipleship
Once we are saved or “born again” as Jesus describes it in John 3, we need someone to guide and help us become more like Christ and grow in His word and teachings. This is called discipleship, the second stage of our Christian Journey. In this stage we commit to be trained by reading, applying and memorizing the basic truths of God’s Word. This is exactly what Jesus did with the twelve disciples while here on earth. This stage is represented by a canteen because discipleship is what fills us with the knowledge needed to grow spiritually.
Serving
Our journey as a follower of Christ intensifies when we begin to serve others. Finding a place to serve within the church allows us to be a blessing and encouragement to our fellow believers. Serving outside the church and in our community, allows us to share the love of Christ with those who are not yet believers. This stage is represented by hiking boots, because we must be willing to put our boots and serve in order to be strong and strengthen others.
Leading
Leading according to God’s Word is different than in the world. The culminating stage of the Journey of Life is when we lead others through the four stages. There are few things in life that compare to the satisfaction of helping someone trust Christ, discipling them to follow Him daily, training them to serve like Jesus and then seeing them lead others through the same process. Leading is about walking side by side with others until they are ready to walk side by side with others through the Journey of Life. This stage is represented by a backpack because it holds all the essentials for a journey. Once we are saved, discipled and serving, we are fully equipped to help others through the journey.
Whatever stage of the journey you are currently in, we are here to help, guide, train and encourage. Our church is filled with people who are in every stage. We exist to help you not only identify where you are in the Journey, but strive forward to be more like Christ. Like our motto says, we are here to “Love God and Spread His Fame, while Loving People and Helping Them do the Same!”
